Kara received both her Bachelor’s Degree (2007) and Master’s Degree (2009) in Communication Disorders from Fontbonne University. She worked for a public school setting for eight years, first providing therapy as a Speech-Language Implementor, and then as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Within this setting, her primary focus was early childhood, working with preschool through 2nd grade students with a variety of communication disorders or other delays. She joined the Walker Scottish Rite Clinic team in June of 2015, working in both the Crystal City, MO Outreach Clinic, and at our Maryville University Clinic each week. In September of 2015, the Crystal City Clinic was relocated to the Jefferson County Health Department in Arnold, MO, where she now offers screenings, evaluations and therapy three days each week. She also leads one of the Clinic’s KidTalk Language Groups, and is Hanen certified in the “It Takes Two to Talk” program, as well as PROMPT trained. A fun fact you may not know about Kara is that she enjoys singing, and frequently sings at weddings around the St. Louis area!
